The innkeeper of The Yawning Portal in Waterdeep. He is an experienced fighter. He is described thus by Ed Greenwood:
a “thinking-man’s Conan” (strong silent type who isn’t a barbarian ignorant of the lands he’s journeying through, but who, although sensitive, believes laws and authority are usually oppressive, and to be ignored whenever they get in the way).
Durnan is one of the masked Lords of Waterdeep, and the secret leader of the Red Sashes.
