At a Glance

Elminster is a wizard and archmage, and resides in Shadowdale. He was born in Athalantar.

Also called the Sage of Shadowdale.

Author of A Myth Drannan Amphigory and Harping by Moonlight: Approaches to Life.

Elminster was (as might be imagined) one of the first characters Ed Greenwood wrote about; in fact, he’s in the first story ever written about the Realms: One Comes, Unheralded, to Zirta.

Mourngrym Amcathra

Mourngrym is the Lord of Shadowdale. His wife is Shaerl Rowanmantle, of Cormyr.

He is the sixth son (and ninth and youngest child) of Challas and Miri of the Amcathra noble family of Waterdeep.

He is also a staunch ally of the Harpers and the Knights of Myth Drannor.
