Ilimar

This information is intended for use with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.

At a Glance

A city split in two, or two cities united by a portal, depending on your perspective.

The northern ruin lies in the Gulthmere Forest, near the south shore of the Lake of the Long Arm. Lamia nobles descended from Nessmara rule here.

The southern ruin stands on the eastern slopes of Muaroghal, north of Rethild. A circle of spirit naga inhabit the ruins and are worshiped as gods by the lizardfolk of Kethid.

Many millennia ago, Ilimar was established by a sarrukh clan supplying Isstosseffifil and Mhairshaulk with slaves.

The Castle of Al’hanar

This information is intended for use with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.

At a Glance

The Castle of Al’hanar is a crumbling fortress just south of the Sharawood, inhabited by the Knights of the Undying Dragon.

Discrepancy

The 4e Campaign Guide places the Castle “Atop a great precipice in the Toadsquat Mountains, overlooking the Gulf of Luiren.” It also typos or renames the Knights of the Undying Dragon the Knights of the Eternal Dragon. Given 4e’s lack of respect for existing lore, it seems only fair that 4e be ignored in cases where it disagrees with previous Realmslore.

Azulduth

This information is intended for use with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.

At a Glance

Azulduth, also called the Lake of Salt, is a lake in southern Mulhorand. It’s known to be inhabited by yuan-ti, who prowl the ancient ruins.

Azulduth is formally claimed by neither Mulhorand nor Unther, though both want the salt that comes out of it. However, neither nation has demonstrated an ability to decisively defeat the local population of serpentfolk. Salt mines and related businesses have been built on both sides of the lake, however. The fortified town of Buldamar stands on the eastern “shore” and Azun on the western; the forces rarely confront each other, as they keep to the edges of the lake.

Unbeknownst to the humans on the surface, the pumps of Pyraddin beneath their towns siphon off much of the water that would otherwise fill the Lake of Salt.
