At a Glance

An abandoned silver mine once delved by gnomes, located somewhere in the Serpent Hills. It contains many portals.

The Cult of the Dragon, during a foray into the dungeon, encountered a pair of deep dragons. They slew one but had to make a hasty retreat through a randomly-chosen portal, which turned out to be a one-way trip to some forgotten ruins in the Evermoors.

At a Glance

A dwarven realm of the Sword Coast North, founded circa -600 DR. This is the ancestral home of Clan Battlehammer; the first king was Gandalug Battlehammer and with the exception of two recent centuries the crown has remained in Battlehammer hands.

About 180 years ago, it fell to the shadow dragon Shimmergloom and was soon populated with duergar.

In 1356 DR, Bruenor Battlehammer and allies slew Shimmergloom and drove out the duergar. Since then, word has spread quickly and dwarves are returning to Mithral Hall.

Dungeon of the Ruins

This information is intended for use with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.

At a Glance

The Dungeon of the Ruins is a monster-infested subterranean complex, known to most only as the Dungeon of the Ruins. The ruins of interest are located near Settlestone, due north of the confluence of the Rauvin and the Surbrin.

Local barbarians avoid the ruins due to great froglike forms seen dancing around pyres. Others are not so wise; the adventuring band calling itself the Company of the Riven Orb disappeared here recently.

DM’s Notes

The ruins on the surface were once a keep called Andalbruin, part of the dwarven realm of Gharraghaur.

The froggish beings are slaadi; the minions and recruits of Bazim-Gorag, who is still imprisoned in the deepest parts of the dungeon.
