The population of Nesmé ranges between about 6,000 in the winter to 9,000 in the peak trading season. It’s a mixed city; in winter, circa 1372 DR, there are 4837 humans (79%), 565 halflings (9%), 321 dwarves (5%), 244 half-elves (4%), 141 gnomes (2%), and 32 members of other races (1%).
