Alkada

At a Glance

Also called the wingless wonder. Alkada are ridiculous creatures, made infamous by wizards’ proclivity to take this form. The reason for this strange choice of beasts to polymorph oneself into is their bizarre natural anti-magic shell.

Riding Lizard

This information is intended for use with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.

At a Glance

A colloquial term for a large lizard suitable for riding. They can be found anywhere large lizards are found, but they’re more common in the Underdark due to breeding programs in various drow and duergar cities.

An animal.

A colloquial term for a large lizard suitable for serving as a pack animal. They can be found anywhere large lizards are found, but they’re more common in the Underdark due to breeding programs in various drow and duergar cities.

Monsters in Drow of the Underdark

The monsters described in Drow of the Underdark (3e) include adamantine spider, bugbear, chwidencha, deep dragon, draegloth, footpad lizard, husk vermin, kuo-toa, quaggoth, quicksilver lizard, shunned, spitting spider, subterranean lizard, szarkai (albino drow), tangle terror, troll, venom ooze, vril, and widowmaker.

The monsters described in FOR2/9326 include azmyth, deep dragon, deep rothe, hairy spider, hunting spider, myrlochar, night hunter, pedipalp, sinister, solifugid, spitting crawler, sword spider, watchspider, werebat, and yochlol.

Time of Troubles

This information is intended for use with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.


At a Glance

The Time of Troubles is a traumatic event in the Forgotten Realms, in 1358 DR, when various powers (primarily but perhaps not exclusively the Faerûnian pantheon) were confined to Toril in avatar form. It’s also called the Godswar.

Trouble Spots

The Xaeyruudh Campaign

In the Xaeyruudh campaign, the current year is 1365 DR (3500 MC) and the Time of Troubles did not occur. This is one of several departures from published Realmslore made in this particular campaign.
