The Cynosure

At a Glance

A rental hall at the west end of the Market, facing Trader’s Way, in Castle Ward of Waterdeep.

Visiting

The building stands within Myrkul’s Ruins and suffers the impeded magic trait of the Fugue Plain: a Spellcraft check (DC 20 +level) is necessary to cast any spell.

Local History

The Temple of the Overgod was built in the aftermath of the Time of Troubles, following the revelation of Ao’s existence, on the site of some ruins left in the wake of Myrkul‘s death. Despite immediate popularity, the church of Ao waned quickly and the building was mostly abandoned. The Lords converted the building to a rental hall for parties, balls, weddings, and so forth. It’s now named The Cynosure.
