The Misty Forest

The Misty Forest is a constantly foggy evergreen forest on the western boundary of the High Moor, south of the DelimbiyrWood elves and hybsils, and druids and rangers of friendly races, dwell here and menace the orcs who sometimes seek to ambush travelers on the Trade Way.

Lizard Marsh

At a Glance

A marsh at the mouth of the Delimbiyr, south of Waterdeep.  The lizardfolk here are at least as organized, territorial, and foul-tempered as anywhere else on Faerûn.  Dinosaurs and black dragons have been spotted in the marsh as well.

Not to be confused with the Mere of Dead Men, which is north of Waterdeep.

Unicorn Run

At a Glance

The Unicorn Run descends from the Star Mounts, flows out of the High Forest, and joins the Delimbiyr at Secomber.  The river is known for its waterfalls, its fey communities, and of course unicorns.

Laughing Hollow

The Laughing Hollow is a canyon through which the Delimbiyr runs.  Once a dwarven quarry, it’s now overgrown with thick vegetation and guarded by pixies, hybsils, and wild elves.

High Road (Waterdeep)

The High Road runs from Luskan south through Waterdeep to Daggerford, where it meets the Trade Way.

It shares its name with other roads.

In Waterdeep, it’s a paved (main) street bordering on multiple wards.

Daggerford

Daggerford is an independent settlement of the Sword Coast, where the Trade Way crosses the Delimbiyr.

The town is drawn on the north bank on the N5 map, but the south bank on the 3e campaign setting map. The Cyclopedia and A Grand Tour describe it as “situated on the south side of the ford.”

Delimbiyr

This information is intended for use with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.


At a Glance

The Delimbiyr originates in the Nether Mountains, flows past and through the High Forest, South Wood, the High Moor, and the Misty Forest, before draining into the Sea of Swords at Daggerford and Lizard Marsh. It’s joined by several small streams up in Delimbiyr Vale, then the Hark River at the edge of the High Moor, and finally by the Unicorn Run.

Also called the River Shining. The water is “mint-sweet” and potable. Szorp, a brown, trout-like fish, is common in the river.
