Shaerl Rowanmantle is a rogue and a member of the Rowanmantle family of Cormyr. Vangerdahast becomes aware of her illicit activities and allows her to avoid dishonoring her family by spying on Mourngrym Amcathra of Shadowdale for him. Shaerl falls in love with her quarry, and in 1358 DR she becomes mother to Scothgar “Scotti” Amcathra.

Also called the Sage of Shadowdale.

Author of A Myth Drannan Amphigory and Harping by Moonlight: Approaches to Life.

Elminster was (as might be imagined) one of the first characters Ed Greenwood wrote about; in fact, he’s in the first story ever written about the Realms: One Comes, Unheralded, to Zirta.
