Chessenta is an Inner Sea realm, established in 929 DR by Untheric dissidents led by Tchazzar. Following their new King’s disappearance during a dracorage in 1018 DR, the nation splintered. When the Spellplague hits in 1385 DR, Chessenta is still a war-torn region of aggressively independent cities and towns.

The Union of Chessenta claims Mourktar, but none of the cities have the resources to effectively enforce the claim. Mourktar has broken with Chessenta and become the crown of Threskel.

The Maerthwatch

The Hills of Maerth, also called the Maerthwatch, are a range of low hills found in central Chessenta, running eastward from the northern Adder Peaks to the Akanamere, then northeast to the Adderswamp.

There are no human communities within the hills, but several nearby settlements, including Maerduuth, Oslin, Saden, and Villon.

The Methwood

A forest on the border between Unther and Chessenta. The Methwood is teeming with life, some of it not found in other nearby forests.

Whenever Gilgeam is not present, the undisputed master of the forest is Skuthosiin, a green dragon with a fearsome reputation in Unther and Chessenta.
