The Stone Bridge

At a Glance

A landmark spanning the Dessarin between Southkrypt and the Halls of the Hunting Axe. It was built by dwarves some five thousand years ago, and is considered by them to be a temple to Moradin. Some dwarves still make pilgrimages here.

The Dessarin River

This information is intended for use with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.


At a Glance

A river beginning in the Lost Peaks, in the northwest corner of the High Forest.  It flows almost due west to Yartar, where it’s joined by the Surbrin, and from there southward to empty into the Sea of Swords at Zundbridge, just south of Waterdeep.

Bridges are found only at Zundbridge, Ironford, and the Stone Bridge. Elsewhere, the river can be crossed by swimming (or magic) but it cannot be forded.

Zundbridge

This information is intended for use with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.


At a Glance

A settlement located at the bridge over the Dessarin, south of Waterdeep. The bridge here was built by a wizard named Zund.

Though politically independent, Zundbridge (primarily the bridge itself) is carefully defended and watched by Waterdeep.

Wormford

At a Glance

Wormford is a settlement on the east bank of the Dessarin, north of Ardeep Forest and between Kryptgarden Forest and the High Forest. Wormford is a very small place, consisting of the ford, a mill, and three houses. Laerran Hawksul resides in one of those houses, and does a bit of trade in perfumes, spices, and cordials, with passing merchants. Wormford also has a deep sweetwater well and two sourapple orchards.
