An aarakocra is —in 5e D&D— a medium neutral good humanoid.

In 3.5e, an aarakocra is a monstrous humanoid.

Where To Find Them

Aarakocra are rare across most of Faerun, typically encountered only as adventurers. They have established major colonies in a few mountain ranges including the Storm Horns, the Cloven Mountains, and the Mistcliffs. Until very recently (as of 1357 DR) they inhabited the Star Mounts as well, but that colony has been destroyed by the green dragon Elaacrimalicros.

There is also evidence of an aarakocra civilization in the Riders to the Sky, but they were hunted to extinction by Chessentan adventurers; the last survivors fled circa 1250 DR.

The color is nice, but I think the b/w illustration shows the form/shape better. It’d be nice if one of them showed the “face” with the mouth shut.
