The Guard consists of about 2,000 fighters, armored in plate and carrying an assortment of halberds, maces, longswords, and daggers. They are led by the Captain of the Guard, a famous (and exceedingly well-armed) warrior named Raithspur.

Who Rules

Ordulin’s status as the capital of Sembia makes it the seat of the realm’s elected Overmaster.

Who Really Rules

The real power rests with the Council of Sembia and hence with merchants. The local thieves’ guild —the Rot Grubs— exerts considerable influence.

  • Orcrommor the Mighty and Asblan the Bold slew each other in a storm of meteor swarms over the streets circa 1315 DR
  • Thindol, a Zhentarim mage, awaked the lich Bhalgustrin and died in the ensuing battle in 1336 DR
  • The Stranded Fish was destroyed in a spellbattle between Glindarl of Impiltur and a bald mage thought to have been a Red Wizard
