Who Rules

King Mith Barak, also called the Mithral Shield, has ruled since 67 DR… with some interruptions. He “sleeps” for 75 years out of every century, appearing to turn into a mithral statue during these periods.

Who Really Rules

When King Barak is awake, he rules. When he sleeps, the Regency Council of Iltkazar keeps the peace.

The king has been awake and actively ruling during these periods:

  • 67-92 DR
  • 167-192 DR
  • 267-292 DR
  • 367-392 DR
  • 467-492 DR
  • 567-592 DR
  • 667-692 DR
  • 767-792 DR
  • 867-892 DR
  • 967-992 DR
  • 1067-1092 DR
  • 1167-1192 DR
  • 1267-1292 DR

He was expected to awaken in 1367, but —as of 1370— he remains apparently asleep.
